What’s New???
Well it looks like we’ve finally reached the hot summer weather again. I’ve gotta say, it’s definitely hot here in Nashville but it’s still not the same as back in my hometown. We just got back from Florida today. We played there last night for the July 4th celebration and man what a great time it was! It was my first headlining show and the first time I had to change shirts for the second set! I was soaking wet after the first of two sets we played. I guess maybe I’m just not used to the heat anymore. But it was well worth it just to have the chance to play in my hometown for the first time since I had my band in high school. I had the opportunity to reconnect with some old friends and classmates, as well as some of my favorite teachers. I have to send a big thank you to Jerry Evans and Jackie Lawhon down in Wakulla county for getting me into the line-up. You guys rock!
Speaking of rocking, we played in Valdosta, GA, last weekend at a bar there called “Rumors.” Those guys and girls down there know how to get down! I met some cool people and had a great time. A funny thing happened the first day that I have to mention. If you remember the first line of my song, “Place Down in Georgia,” which says, “They miss-spelled my name on the sign that says I’m playing here tonight,” then this should make sense to you. Apparently it started off correct, but the wind blew the letter ‘J’ off my first name. The sign read as follows:

How appropriate is that?!?!
Other than that I’ve been really busy with the shows (three states this past month) and writing appointments. I’ve written a few more songs the last couple of weeks I’m pretty proud of and will hopefully be adding them to the set lists very soon. Also, just to remind you again, I’ve got the message board up and running on the website, thanks to my new Nashville street team leader Tiffany. Be sure and take a few minutes to check it out and sign-up. It’s a great way to let people know what you think about me, my songs, my band, and to get to know other fans of mine in other states. I’ll be posting messages from time-to-time as well. Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing great and to see each of you very soon!
