What’s New???
Well, I finally had a chance to have
some much needed rest and relaxation. I didn’t
have any out of town gigs in July except for the one
in my hometown at the beginning of the month. I had
the opportunity to play the Blue Bird Café
twice in one week. The first one was more of a sittin’
in kind of thing, but the second one was with other
writers from my publishing company, and both rounds
were a blast. The writers in the second round were
Mike Post, Heather Morgan, and Chris Walin. These
three writers are new to the company, but I’m
sure you’ve heard some of Chris’ songs
on the radio; such as I’m Tryin’ by Trace
Adkins and Speed by Montgomery Gentry! I also did
a week at the Wildhorse Saloon, which is always a
good time. However, I must say I’m ready to
hit the road again this month. I’m starting
to miss it already!
Other than that, I’ve been doing lots of writing
and wait, I almost forgot. I’ve finally started
the process of meeting with record labels! I met with
Warner Brothers records last week. I feel like the
meeting went very well, and the lady I met with is
anxious to come see me play with the band. I will
start meeting with the other labels in town soon and
hopefully will have the same response. So I need everybody’s
fingers crossed over the next couple of months, okay?
Another thing that’s been soaking up a lot of
my time is a dvd/video project I’ve been working
on. I hope to have it finished soon and up for grabs
on the website. It’s gonna be jam-packed with
footage of live shows, fans, and an inside look into
my life, both personal and professional. A bit of
an auto-biography I guess you could say. So keep your
eyes pealed! I’ll let you know when it’s
finished and available. I haven’t thought of
a good name for it yet, so any suggestions are welcome.
And one more thing before I go: “Sign up for
the message board!” It’s getting a lot
of hits, but I need everybody to sign up and post,
post, post! I think it’s a great tool for us
to use to keep in touch. Anyhow, I’m gonna run
for now. So until next month, I hope all is well where
